We are excited to announce that the AKC has recognized Pine Acre Kennel as a registered kennel, in good standing with the American Kennel Club. This means that all puppies sold by us, will carry the Pine Acre name, and that it is exclusive to our mastiff's and miniature schnauzers. Thanks to the American Kennel Club! The American Kennel Club is the oldest and most respected dog registry in the country. When purchasing a dog who is AKC registered, you can rest assured that you are getting a purebred dog, whose lineage can be traced back many generations with the AKC. They are also now requiring that dogs entered into their stud books, be DNA certified as purebred. There are many other registries in the country, that only require a few photos of a dog as well as someone attesting to the fact that the dog is purebred, and they will provide a registration. This, in no way, guarantees that what you are getting as a "registered" dog, is truly purebred. Only by purchasing a dog registered in America with either the American Kennel Club or the Canadian Kennel Club can you be certain that you are actually getting a purebred dog. Also, just because a dog is registered, does not have any bearing on whether or not the dog meets the standard set for the breed. Only by studying the breed standard, going to dog shows and talking to breeders who show their dogs, can you be sure of the quality of the dog that you purchase. Any reputable breeder will gladly go over their dogs with you, and point out how they meet the standard as well as any faults that they may have. NO breeder has the perfect dog! We all just strive for perfection in our breeding program, and attempt to breed out the faults, and breed in the desired qualities.
